Launched in April 2016, the Initiative for the Adaptation of African Agriculture (AAA) aims to reduce the vulnerability of African agriculture to climate change, in the context of food security. It promotes the implementation of concrete projects in the field of soil, agricultural water and climate risk management, including capacity building & funding support, as highlighted by circumstances and NDCs of African countries.

Milestones were successfully reached by the AAA Initiative, since there, particularly the commitment of many African countries, various international development agencies, funders, and NGOs, and finally yet importantly, the visibility given by UNFCCC to the Initiative during the COP22 organized in Morocco.
